There are countless Earths
among the stars
and they fight the same damn
countless wars
as time folds back upon itself.
Lord, what are the odds?
Each Earth ignores their visitors
though they may be as gods.
How many times
they have skipped from galaxy to galaxy.
How many times
they have walked the same mad
Sea of Galilee.
So many sons
and daughters
to be nailed to a Roman tree.
