SINGULARITY

by G.A. Scheinoha

They all gravitate towards
her waiting mouth, where
she devours as fast
as each falls in.
For an eternity, time
grinds to a halt
or perhaps
it’s only an instant, swept up
by her tractor beam
feminine wiles.
Then they drift forward again,
unable to
veer away.
As the movie
tagline suggests:

In space no one
can hear
you scream.
But if we could,
would anybody
care?
