SCHROEDINGER’S ELEPHANT

by NEAL WILGUS

If you step through this door
he said
the only thing for certain
is unknown.

I never could understand
he said
why people find this strange.
It’s just the thing
we deal with every second
he said.

Call it existentialism
if you will.
Call it agnosticism, anarchism
or what the hell was that?

It’s right before your very eyes
he said.
